I read the article and to be honest, I‘m a bit torn. On one side I get that audits are important and can help catch issues you‘d never see otherwise, but on the other hand, I always find those guides super overwhelming with how many steps and checklists there are. Sometimes I feel lost halfway through and just hope I didn‘t miss anything crucial.
I saw someone say that most of these guides just repeat the same old stuff and don‘t take new rules into account, which honestly matches my experience too. The last time I tried following one of those audits everything felt a bit out of date. Like, some screenshots didn‘t even match what I see on my screen anymore. Makes you wonder if the folks writing these are actually using the tools themselves.
That said, I still think it‘s better to at least try and follow a guide than to ignore audits completely, but it‘s frustrating. Would really help if someone could do a more up-to-date version or at least mention "hey, this changed in 2024." Anyway, just my two cents – I‘ll keep muddling through for now. Anyone else feel a bit lost with these?

Honestly, I think it's kind of funny how people always say "just follow the guide and you'll be fine", but in reality, every audit is a bit different. I've seen people stressing over tiny details that nobody checks in the end, and then the big stuff gets overlooked. I sorta get what Anonymous is saying about the copy-paste thing cause half the time those guides feel like they're made for a completely different set of rules or a totally different year. Guess it's partly because the rules keep changing and not everyone has the patience to go through and update everything. In my experience doing audits at work, the only thing that really helps is double-checking the criteria *your* specific team or company uses, instead of trusting any random guide 100%. Would be nice if there was a place with really up-to-date info but yeah, that's probably wishful thinking.
